Select Multiple Operators for Single Trips

Sometimes trains switch crews, locomotives or service designations mid-trip. Maybe the user could manually indicate where the change occurs and it could display under both/all operators proportionally the way it already does for international trips. The current merge feature is somewhat tedious and counts mileage for a merged trip multiple times, giving every operator credit for the full length. Example: you take the shinkansen from Tokyo to Hakodate. From Tokyo to Shin-Aomori this is a Tohoku Shinkansen train run by JR East, and from Shin-Aomori to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto it is a Hokkaido Shinkansen train run by JR Hokkaido, regardless of which company owns that specific trainset.
