Special characters
"text" - For terms with spaces
`text` - For exact matches
!text - To exclude a term
tex* - * matches any number of characters
te?t - ? matches exactly one character
duration>2h - Greater than (also <, >= and <=)
duration:2h..4h - Range, both ends included
train|bus - Either one, inside a single term
Examples
from:"Oslo Central" type:train
Use double quotes when you need to include spaces in the search
from:`Oslo S` to:`Stockholm`
Backticks ensure an exact match
type:train to:!Paris
Prefix with ! to exclude: train trips whose destination is not Paris
from:Ber* to:*hagen
Wildcards anchor the term: departures starting with "Ber", arrivals ending in "hagen"
duration>2h date:2024-01-01..2024-06-30
Trips over two hours in the first half of 2024. Without a unit, a duration is in minutes, a distance in km and a speed in km/h.
date:2020 date:!2020-02..2020-03 type:train|bus
Repeating a field narrows the search, so this reads as: all of 2020 except February and March, by train or by bus.
from:Oslo express date:2024-01-15
You can combine different search modes, the example above searches for all trips where the departure station contains "Oslo Central", on January 15, 2024, with "express" in any field
Good to know
- Backticks only make a prefixed term exact; a term typed on its own is always matched as a fragment, in every field.
- operator: also searches an operator's other names (aliases, short name and long name), so a match can come from text that is not shown in the table.
- reg: also finds ships by name, IMO and MMSI, whichever one the trip was logged with.
